Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial integridad académica ChatGPT

Resumen:

Texto completo

The rapid adoption of generative AI tools such as ChatGPT by students has the potential to disrupt the higher education sector, with concerns being raised by academics about potential threats to academic integrity. This paper contributes to the pressing discussion about responses to AI tools by examining students' perceptions and the use of generative AI to assist them with assessments. Based on a survey among 337 Australian university students, this study found that more than a third of students have used a chatbot for assistance with an assessment, and do not necessarily perceive this as a breach of academic integrity. The study further investigated to what extent different psychosocial...

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: trabajo teórico

Temas: inteligencia artificial alfabetización en IA educación infantil

Resumen:

Texto completo

Artificial intelligence (AI) education has posed fundamental challenges to early childhood education (ECE), including (1) why AI is necessary and appropriate for learning in the early years, (2) what is the subset of key AI ideas and concepts that can be learned by children, and (3) how to engage children in a meaningful experience that allows them to acquire these fundamental AI concepts. This report from the ECE field discusses the key considerations for developing an AI curriculum for young children. These key considerations altogether present an innovative pedagogical model for AI literacy education in early childhood. This model argues that AI literacy is an organic part of digital...

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial ChatGPT motivación

Resumen:

Texto completo

The purpose of this study was to investigate the determinants of higher education students' motivation towards continuous usage of ChatGPT for English language learning, based on a modified Self-Determination Theory (SDT). A quantitative approach hinged on a cross-sectional survey design was adopted, and an online questionnaire used to collect data from 324 students studying English as Foreign Language (EFL) and English as a Second Language (ESL). The data were analyzed using a Partial Least Squares-Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM) technique. This study established that initial ChatGPT usage determined students' perceived autonomy, competence, relatedness and challenges in ChatGPT...

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial evaluación grandes modelos de lenguaje

Resumen:

Texto completo

Identifying logical errors in complex, incomplete or even contradictory and overall heterogeneous data like students’ experimentation protocols is challenging. Recognizing the limitations of current evaluation methods, we investigate the potential of Large Language Models (LLMs) for automatically identifying student errors and streamlining teacher assessments. Our aim is to provide a foundation for productive, personalized feedback. Using a dataset of 65 student protocols, an Artificial Intelligence (AI) system based on the GPT-3.5 and GPT-4 series was developed and tested against human raters. Our results indicate varying levels of accuracy in error detection between the AI system and...

Temas: inteligencia artificial procesamiento del lenguaje natural educación superior

Resumen:

Texto completo

This study presents an innovative solution for evaluating university-level teaching quality using artificial intelligence (AI), focusing on key aspects such as clarity of explanation and lecture structure. Traditional student surveys, while valuable, are often subject to biases and lack the necessary granularity, creating a need for objective, scalable solutions that provide consistent results. We propose an automated framework utilizing advanced natural language processing (NLP) models to assess teaching quality based on lecture transcripts. The methodology combines AI-driven transcription, machine learning-based assessments, and correlation with institutional student evaluations to...

Promoting pre-service music teachers’ TPACK with generative AI: an intervention through designing with AI
Haiying Li, Ching Sing Chai, Xinlei Wang (2025)

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial formación de profesores competencia digital

Resumen:

Texto completo

Generative artificial intelligence (GenAI) presents transformative opportunities for education, yet its integration into music teacher preparation remains underdeveloped. Two critical gaps exist: (1) scant empirical studies on how pre-service music teachers can leverage GenAI to develop their expertise; and (2) the potential of designing with AI to develop technological pedagogical content knowledge (TPACK) in music education is unexplored, despite evidence of the effectiveness of learning by design in other disciplines. This study implemented a six-week designing with AI intervention grounded in TPACK framework, engaging 59 pre-service music teachers in collaborative GenAI-assisted lesson...

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: trabajo teórico

Temas: inteligencia artificial educación superior innovación educativa

Resumen:

Texto completo

The global landscape of higher education is undergoing a profound transformation driven by Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) and pervasive digital technologies, particularly posing fundamental challenges to the traditional liberal arts education model grounded in holistic human development, broad intellectual inquiry, and student engagement. This position paper examines Lingnan University (Lingnan), Hong Kong’s longest-established institution of higher education, as a critical case of how a liberal arts university can strategically transform itself in the digital era without relinquishing its humanistic foundations. It analyzes Lingnan’s institutional transformation towards a “...

From simulation to flight: Simulation-assisted drone learning with teacher-AI co-designed scaffolds for secondary students’ STEM knowledge and competencies
Richard Chung Yiu Yeung, Chi Ho Yeung, Daner Sun (2026)

Detalles Cerrar βœ•

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial educación primaria y secundaria andamiaje/scaffolding

Resumen:

Texto completo

A persistent challenge in drone-based STEM education is the scarcity of teacher-verified, interactive simulations that support both conceptual learning and competency development. Generative AI can accelerate content creation, but its outputs frequently lack pedagogical validity and contextual alignment. This study examines whether simulation-assisted drone instruction, anchored by teacher-AI co-designed simulations, yields superior learning outcomes compared to the same hands-on curriculum delivered without simulations. Using a quasi-experimental pretest–posttest design with 30 secondary students (aged 13 to 17), both groups completed identical drone tasks with the same instructor; however...

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: trabajo teórico

Temas: inteligencia artificial tecnología educativa teorías de aprendizaje

Resumen:

Texto completo

With the development of computing and information processing techniques, artificial intelligence (AI) has been extensively applied in education. Artificial intelligence in education (AIEd) opens new opportunities, potentials, and challenges in educational practices. In its short history, AIEd has been undergoing several paradigmatic shifts, which are characterized into three paradigms in this position paper: AI-directed, learner-as-recipient, AI-supported, learner-as-collaborator, and AI-empowered, learner-as-leader. In three paradigms, AI techniques are used to address educational and learning issues in varied ways. AI is used to represent knowledge models and direct cognitive learning...
