En la comunidad de habla LGTBI se utilizan palabras tradicionalmente utilizadas como formas nominales de tratamiento degradantes, ahora reapropiadas por sus miembros. En estas páginas se presenta un análisis de estas, que abre camino a los estudios queer en la lingüística hispánica. Mientras que estos lexemas son utilizados en actos amenazantes en el habla común de la sociedad actual, dentro de este colectivo son recursos afiliativos que establecen relaciones de solidaridad. Este cambio es posible tras un proceso de reapropiación y resignificación léxica. Además, uno de los efectos más significativos del uso de estas formas son los actos performativos que se generan, los cuales influyen en la transmisión de una realidad alternativa en la que las personas LGTBI son el canon de normalidad.
