Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial ChatGPT educación superior

Resumen:

Texto completo

This study investigates how U.S. college students (N = 1001) perceive and use ChatGPT, exploring its relationship with societal structures and student characteristics. Regression results show that gender, age, major, institution type, and institutional policy significantly influenced ChatGPT use for general, writing, and programming tasks. Students in their 30s–40s were more likely to use ChatGPT frequently than younger students. Non-native English speakers were more likely than native speakers to use ChatGPT frequently for writing, suggesting its potential as a support tool for language learners. Institutional policies allowing ChatGPT use predicted higher use of ChatGPT. Thematic analysis...

This systematic review is a synthesis of 32 empirical and conceptual studies published between December 2022 and March 2026 to investigate AI literacy among language teachers in higher education. The review has answered four research questions related to conceptualisations of AI literacy, pedagogical practices and professional-development models, assessment approaches, and reported outcomes, challenges, and gaps guided by the theoretical lens of governing the unseen, which prefigures institutional policies. Based on PRISMA 2020, the systematic search of ERIC, the British Educational Index, and Web of Science resulted in the identification of studies, which were subjected to thematic...

In recent decades, we have witnessed the democratization of AI-powered Educational Technology (AI-EdTech). However, despite the increased accessibility and evolving technological capabilities, its adoption is accompanied by significant challenges, predominantly rooted in social and psychological aspects. At the same time, limited research has been conducted on human factors, especially trust, influencing students' readiness and willingness to adopt AI-EdTech. This study aims to bridge this gap by addressing the multidimensional nature of trust and developing a new instrument for measuring students' perceptions of adopting AI-EdTech. With 665 student responses, we employ Exploratory and...

Temas: inteligencia artificial alfabetización en IA educación primaria y secundaria

Resumen:

Texto completo en HTML

There is an emerging interest in Artificial Intelligence (AI) teaching and learning in the K-12 setting. While some work has explored the educational content and resources used for this purpose, there is limited empirical evidence on the effectiveness of such AI education interventions. The primary objective of the systematic literature review presented in this paper was to examine research with empirical evidence reporting learning outcomes for teaching and learning AI in K-12 between 2019 and 2022. Through a rigorous selection process, a total of 28 studies were included in the final analysis out of 8,175 papers identified from five research databases using specific search terms....

Resumen:

Design thinking (DT) is one of the critical 21st-century digital skills that allows individuals to solve real-world problems by redesigning their problem procedure to achieve the desired outcome. Nowadays, cultivating DT within any educational program is becoming increasingly important for teachers since Artificial Intelligence (AI) and chatbots are available to all students. However, teachers themselves need to possess DT competency to effectively cultivate it in their students, particularly in humanistic fields like applied linguistics, Computer Assisted Language Learning (CALL), and Artificial Intelligence Language Teaching (AILT). For this reason, the researcher in the current study...

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial evaluación educación superior

Resumen:

Longitudinal progress testing promotes self-directed deep learning across a full spectrum of knowledge, enabling early detection of underperformance and opportunities for remediation. Computer adaptive testing (CAT), where the difficulty of a test dynamically adjusts according to a test taker's ability, has benefits in a progress testing context, but significant resource and experience is required to develop appropriate test materials. This study describes how a transnational consortium from eight medical schools in five countries across Europe was formed to develop a computer adaptive progress test applicable across international curricula. 1,212 students from more than 40 nationalities...

Metodología: revisión bibliográfica

Temas: inteligencia artificial alfabetización en IA educación primaria y secundaria

Resumen:

Texto completo

The growing presence of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in society increases the exposure of children and youth to these technologies. In response, recent research introduced educational programs that foster AI knowledge and competencies, collectively comprising AI literacy. This study presents a systematic review of 23 articles published up to 2023 describing AI literacy programs for children and youth. We examined: (1) motivations for teaching AI literacy, (2) conceptualizations of AI literacy that informed program design, and (3) learning theories and pedagogical methods employed. The analysis identified five motivational themes: workforce, informed users, purposeful creators, advocacy, and...

Statement of problem: The students’ academic performance is influenced by a complex interplay among several factors. Traditional educational approaches often struggle to accommodate the diverse needs of students, leading to suboptimal learning outcomes. Purpose: This article aims to comprehensively understand the role of study strategies and learning disabilities in shaping academic performance. Through the integration of artificial intelligence (AI) tools, the purpose is to propose a decision support system (DSS) for recommendations to improve the educational approach. Method: To identify features with higher explanatory power based on empirical data, we employed an artificial neural...

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial profesorado alfabetización en IA

Resumen:

Texto completo

For current K-12 AI education, understanding how teacher professional knowledge influences student learning is essential. This study employed social cognitive theory to conceptualize teachers' instructional practice and conducted a multilevel structural equation model analysis to examine the cross-level effects of teacher AI knowledge (TAIK) and pedagogical AI knowledge (TPAIK) on student AI knowledge (SAIK), perceptions of AI for social good (SAISG), and behavioral intention to learn AI (SBIAI). Data from 46 secondary school teachers and 2832 students revealed intricate mechanisms. TAIK alone was insufficient and could slightly diminish SAISG without TPAIK. Instead, TPAIK played a...

Resumen:

Texto completo

In the endeavor to advance industrial engineering and management (IEM) education, this research underscores the imperative of supporting a dynamic and responsive adaptation of a competency-based curriculum (CBC) to meet the demands of an ever-evolving industrial landscape and job market. Our study contributes to competency-based education (CBE) by demonstrating how Artificial Intelligence (AI) can inform the definition of a CBC in the IEM field, thus initiating the pioneering steps towards a collaborative human-AI approach in CBC design. Through a stepwise methodology based on semantic analysis, text mining, natural language processing (NLP) models, informetrics approaches, and clustering...
