Tipo: artículo

Metodología: revisión bibliográfica

Temas: inteligencia artificial

Resumen:

Texto completo

This study aimed to categorize learning analytics (LA) models and identify their relevant components by analyzing LA-related articles published between 2011 and 2019 in international journals. A total of 101 articles discussing various LA models were selected. These models were characterized according to their goals and components. A qualitative content analysis approach was used to develop a coding scheme for analyzing the aforementioned models. The results reveal that the studied LA models belong to five categories, namely performance, meta-cognitive, interactivity, communication, and data models. The majority of the selected LA-related articles were data models, followed by performance...

Metodología: trabajo teórico

Temas: inteligencia artificial

Resumen:

Texto completo

Artificial intelligence (AI) demonstrates growing potential to enhance and support various disciplines in research activities, including literature review and academic writing. Nevertheless, there is currently insufficient evidence about its efficacy in facilitating simulation-based research. This position paper discusses the implication of AI in research methodology and demonstrates how to use AI to conduct simulation-based research. The demonstration indicates that AI-driven simulation-based research is feasible and possesses numerous advantages. Moreover, the differences between AI-driven simulation-based research and traditional research methods are discussed. This position paper...

This umbrella review examines the current state of artificial intelligence in education (AIEd) in K-12 by synthesizing 102 systematic reviews. We described their characteristics, built a framework to summarize the review foci, synthesized the major findings, and examined their quality. The main findings are as follows: (a) AIEd Review Framework: We developed a framework that maps the territory of AIEd to understand the research topics distributed and interconnected. (b) Innovation: AI has been applied to support teachers’ instruction, personalize learning, enhance engagement and collaboration, automate assessment and feedback, and manage educational content, reflecting its multifaceted...

Language teaching, especially English, is a business around the world. It's not just about the institutes dedicated to this or jobs for teachers, but also for associated industries: production and...

The M. A. in Bilingual Education at Nebrija University includes a diverse set of training tools which aims to facilitate the acquisition of various skills, among which language skills are the most important ones. As part of an active teaching method, the student is the protagonist of his own learning and the teacher is the expert in the field, the connoisseur of the best means to transmit knowledge and to help students improve their learning strategies. The teaching methodology used is blended learning, combining face-to-face and online classes through the virtual campus, a collaborative platform which makes use of typical e-learning educational spaces such as fora, chats, links, task box...

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial

Resumen:

Texto completo

This study highlights the potential of fine-tuned ChatGPT (GPT-3.5) for automatically scoring student written constructed responses using example assessment tasks in science education. The application of ChatGPT in research and academic fields has greatly enhanced productivity and efficiency. Recent studies on ChatGPT based on OpenAI's generative model GPT-3.5 proved its superiority in predicting the natural language with high accuracy and human-like responses. GPT-3.5 has been trained over enormous online language materials such as journals and Wikipedia; however, direct usage of pre-trained GPT-3.5 is insufficient for automatic scoring as students do not utilize the same language as...

Designing conversational Agents for adaptive instructional support in business simulation gaming
Anna Wenzel, Jan-Martin Geiger, Andreas Liening (2026)
Computers & Education: Artificial Intelligence
Detalles Cerrar βœ•

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial

Resumen:

Texto completo

Adaptive instructional support that addresses individual learner differences in learning strengths, challenges, and interests is essential for engaging learners in meaningful cognitive processes and promoting learning. Although business simulation games (BSGs) are widely used for experiential entrepreneurial learning, they often provide limited formative feedback and structured reflection, which can overwhelm novice learners and exacerbate existing educational disparities. While AI-supported conversational agents (CAs) offer potential for scalable adaptive support, theory-driven guidance for their design in digital game-based learning (DGBL) remains scarce, particularly from an ethical and...

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial

Resumen:

Texto completo

English grammar multiple-choice questions (MCQs) can be automatically generated to reduce preparation time. Previous studies have focused on semiautomated methods based on the transformation of human-made sentences/articles into MCQs, owing to which the number of generated questions is dependent on the size of a given text corpus. This study proposes an artificial intelligence-assisted MCQ generation system that increases the number of generable questions using controllable text generation techniques. In this system, the questions for MCQs are generated using a text generation model trained using the Text-to-Text Transfer Transformer (T5) architecture, a powerful deep learning model for...

Computers & Education: Artificial Intelligence
Detalles Cerrar βœ•

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas: inteligencia artificial

Resumen:

Texto completo

Although ChatGPT, a state-of-the-art, large language model, seems to be a disruptive technology in higher education, it is unclear to what extent students rely on this tool for completing different tasks. To address this gap, we asked university students (N = 490) recruited via CloudResearch to rate the extent to which they rely on ChatGPT for completing 13 tasks identified in a previous pilot study. Five distinct profiles emerged: ‘Versatile low reliers’ (38.2%) were characterised by low overall self-reported reliance across the tasks, while ‘all-rounders’ (10.4%) had high overall self-reported reliance. The ‘knowledge seekers’ (16.5%) scored particularly high on tasks such as content...
