Resumen:
Learning analytics has matured significantly since its early days. The field has rapidly grown in terms of the reputation of its publication venues, established a vibrant community, and has demonstrated an increasing impact on policy and practice. However, the boundaries of the field are still being explored by many researchers in a bid to determine what differentiates a contribution in learning analytics from contributions in related fields, which also center around data in education. In this paper, we propose that instead of emphasizing the examination of differences, a healthy development of the field should focus on collaboration and be informed by the developments in related fields....

Resumen:
OpenAI's latest version of Generative Pre-Trained Transformer, GPT-3, has caused a lot of debates and controversies worldwide concerning its deployment and possible uses. Therefore, the current research objective is to develop a proposed model based on the extended Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT2) with other much-related factors to examine the role of ChatGPT adoption services in enhancing student communication and collaboration skills in developing countries (e.g., Jordan). This study also investigates the mediating role of performance expectancy and the moderating role of innovativeness toward these services. The online questionnaire was used as an instrument to...

Resumen:
In recent years, distance learning using learning management and e-book systems has been actively conducted in higher education institutions and various other organizations. It is possible to collect and analyze learning logs even in classes with many learners, including clickstreams and quiz scores in detail for each individual. This research proposes using Moodle's learning logs to classify learning patterns and outliers in order to identify struggling learners. The proposed method uses the descriptive statistics between the learner's teaching material clickstream and the final test score accumulated in Moodle, and students can be classified into four learning patterns. The frequency of...

Resumen:
As generative AI (GenAI) becomes increasingly embedded in higher education, this study examines how students' perceived AI ability (AIA) relates to their independent learning disposition (INL) and academic self-efficacy (ASE). We administered a quantitative survey to 302 undergraduate students in Hong Kong. Results indicated significant positive correlations among AIA, INL, and ASE. Mediation analysis further showed that INL mediates the association between AIA and ASE: students who perceive themselves as more capable with AI also report stronger independent learning dispositions, which in turn are linked to higher academic self-efficacy. We discuss the potential of AI tools to scaffold...

Resumen:
Background: The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) has increased in all education sectors including K-12 settings where students can learn about AI and have an augmented learning experience using AI. Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review is to provide a more complete and nuanced understanding of the role and impact of AI in K-12 education by synthesizing publication trends, AI research themes, AI methods and technology applications, and AI use by students and teachers in K-12 educational settings. Methods: The systematic review searched Web of Science and six databases indexed in EBSCO host. A PRISMA flow chart was applied to search and screen for studies. Articles were screened...

Resumen:
As with other sectors over the last few years, Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) is rapidly reshaping the education ecosystem introducing new epistemic, ethical, and organisational challenges. Education leaders face the need to shift established systems and processes to reimagine how more adaptive complexity-informed GenAI enabled systems operate with new governance, pedagogy, and strategic decision-making. In this context, traditional bureaucratic leadership structures are ill-suited for the pace, scale, and sociotechnical nature of the ongoing technological disruption. This paper addresses this gap by introducing a novel leadership framework called SPARK, designed to...

Resumen:
With the widespread use of Generative AI in education, effectively utilizing and integrating it into teaching have become key focal points and challenges in education. Different subjects and target audiences require varied norms and strategies for implementing Generative AI, such as ChatGPT. These differences directly impact the educational integration of Generative AI in various educational contexts. To address these disparities and establish common ground, we propose the concept of ChatGPT literacy to bridge research gaps. In this study, we tailor the concept of ChatGPT literacy specifically for language teachers, aiming to delineate the essential competencies needed to proficiently and...

Resumen:
Integrating artificial intelligence into medical imaging offers potential for dental education. While existing models automate diagnosis, they often lack the interpretive depth needed for comprehensive student training. To address these limitations, this paper presents Gen-Mentor , a human-in-the-loop instructional framework that integrates the DentDiff-VLM backbone into a dental-radiography workflow. The backbone uses Faster R-CNN to localize four target radiographic findings: Filling, Implant, Impacted Tooth, and Cavity. A conditional diffusion model supports curriculum expansion by generating class-specific synthetic ROI candidates as candidate instructional assets. A vision–language...

Resumen:
Highlights:
- The analysis of gameplay data from the Blood Transfusion Serious Game (BTSG) revealed crucial insights into the engagement, performance, and competency levels of participating nurses.
- The study highlighted the efficiency of the adaptive assessment algorithm in determining competency indicators through gameplay activities.
- Notable discrepancies existed between the game-embedded result and the adaptive assessment result, suggesting potential biases in the game result, which tended to overestimate the demonstrated competence.
