Resumen:

This article examines the role of advanced generative AI chatbots, particularly ChatGPT, in supporting Spanish language teaching. It explores how ChatGPT can aid educators in developing language learning tasks, utilizing a five-step model and backward design methodology. Through an exploratory and descriptive approach, the study sheds light on ChatGPT's potential in task generation. The article shows that ChatGPT can produce a broad array of integrated tasks for the interpretive, interpersonal, and presentational modes, targeting specific learning objectives and standards. However, AI-generated content often requires additional revision and refinement to fully align with established task criteria.
