This study investigates the potential of AI chatbots as practice partners in the context of EFL secondary school students' self-directed learning of conversation skills. Ensayo sobre la crisis que la IA generativa provoca en la enseñanza de lenguas y culturas, y sobre por qué el profesorado humano sigue siendo necesario. Apoyándose en la crítica de Hubert Dreyfus a la inteligencia artificial, el autor señala cuatro carencias de estos sistemas: la falta de experiencia corporal, la ausencia de conciencia temporal e historia personal, la ausencia de intuición y, sobre todo, la incapacidad de intersubjetividad empática.

Concluye proponiendo un giro desde una educación utilitaria y orientada al empleo hacia una educación humanística centrada en la creatividad, la síntesis interdisciplinar y la sabiduría.

Resumen:

Generative AI tools provide opportunities for personalizing and improving the education process. This paper analyzes the tool Brisk Teaching, used in the courses Information and Communication Technologies and E-Business during the academic year 2024/25 at the Zagreb School of Economics and Management. After recognizing weak points in students' knowledge, the authors implemented chatbots to help students learn and to provide professors with quick feedback on student progress. The paper examines the connection between students' activity with the GenAI tool and the results achieved in the knowledge test: students were very satisfied with its implementation and believe it provides additional motivation for learning.

Education receives a revolution from artificial intelligence, which provides three key advantages through individualized learning practices, while performing administrative work, and evaluating performance with smart technologies. A review investigates the main AI applications which education utilizes with a focus on adaptive learning systems, alongside intelligent tutors, together with AI-based assessment methodology. The discussion within the paper analyzes the ethical dilemmas from AI implementation, including concerns about data confidentiality and algorithmic prejudice and dependence on human educators.

Through a systematic analysis of the literature, this study analyzes the change in the teacher's role triggered by the integration of AI into educational systems. The picture offered by the systematic analysis of the literature conducted in this study reveals a less than total awareness of the urgency with which the challenges imposed by AI in the educational field must be addressed. Examines the effects of ChatGPT's Advanced Voice Mode on the development of university students' oral proficiency.
