Temas:
IA y evaluación estudio empírico

Resumen:

Texto completo

The integration of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools is a paradigm shift in enhanced learning methodologies and assessment techniques. This study explores the adoption of generative AI tools in higher education assessments by examining the perceptions of 353 students through a survey and 17 in-depth interviews. Anchored in the Unified Theory of Acceptance and Use of Technology (UTAUT), this study investigates the roles of perceived risk and tech-savviness in the use of AI tools. Perceived risk emerged as a significant deterrent, while trust and tech-savviness were pivotal in shaping student engagement with AI. Tech-savviness not only influenced adoption but also moderated the effect...

Accused: How students respond to allegations of using ChatGPT on assessments
Tim Gorichanaz (2023)
Learning: Research and Practice
Detalles Cerrar βœ•

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: estudio empírico

Temas:
chatGPT IA y evaluación estudio empírico

Resumen:

This study investigates student responses to allegations of cheating using ChatGPT, a popular software platform capable of generating coherent text on various topics. Data comprising 49 Reddit posts and discussions between December 2022 and June 2023 were collected. Students shared their experiences, often asserting false accusations, and discussed strategies to navigate these situations. Thematic analysis identified five key themes: adopting a legalistic stance with argumentation and evidence; higher education's role as a societal gatekeeper; vicissitudes of trust in students vs. technology; questions of what constitutes cheating; and the need to rethink assessment. These findings will aid educators and institutions in crafting more meaningful assessments in the age of AI and establishing guidelines for student usage of ChatGPT and...

Are LLMs actually good for learning?
Vasile Rus, Panayiota Kendeou (2025)
AI & Society
Detalles Cerrar βœ•

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: trabajo teórico

Temas:

Temas:
IA y educación estudio empírico

Resumen:

Texto completo

The release of ChatGPT in November 2022 has sparked discussions about integrating Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) into teacher education. Teacher educators, as key facilitators of pre-service teachers, play a critical role in determining the successful adoption of GenAI. Their perceptions guide curriculum redesign, define best practices, and shape pre-service teachers’ experiences with GenAI, potentially multiplying its impact across future classrooms. This mixed-methods study explored Danish teacher educators’ perceptions of GenAI (n = 91), focusing on its transformative potential, challenges, and the knowledge pre-service teachers need to acquire. The study employed innovative methods, including GenAI-enhanced...

Metodología: revisión bibliográfica

Temas:
IA y aprendizaje revisión de bibliografía

Resumen:

Texto completo

The objective of personalized learning is to design an effective knowledge acquisition track that matches the learner's strengths and bypasses his/her weaknesses to ultimately meet his/her desired goal. This concept emerged several years ago and is being adopted by a rapidly growing number of educational institutions around the globe. In recent years, the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML), together with advances in big data analysis, has introduced novel perspectives that enhance personalized education in numerous ways. By taking advantage of AI/ML methods, the educational platform precisely acquires the student?s characteristics. This is done, in part, by observing past experiences as well as...

Why AI will not democratize education: A critical pragmatist perspective
MichaΕ‚ Wieczorek (2025)
Philosophy & Technology
Detalles Cerrar βœ•

Tipo: artículo

Metodología: trabajo teórico

Temas:
IA y educación ética de la IA

Resumen:

Texto completo

This paper builds on Dewey’s philosophy of education to argue that AI, at least in its current commercial form, is likely to have a negative impact on democratic education. AI and other digital technologies are currently being touted for their potential to “democratise” education, even if it is not clear what this would entail. Adopting Dewey’s notion of democratic education, I emphasise that education needs to provide children with skills and dispositions necessary for democratic living, experience in communication and cooperation, opportunities to codetermine the shape of democratic institutions and education itself, and equal opportunities to participate in learning. This allows me to...
