As artificial intelligence (AI) becomes increasingly integrated into K–12 education, concerns about equity and access have grown. This scoping review explores how inclusive AI curricula are designed, implemented, and evaluated in educational settings. Guided by three research questions, we analyzed 17 empirical studies published between 2013 and 2024, focusing on (1) the contexts and characteristics of inclusive AI curricula, (2) instructional strategies that promote broader participation, and (3) learning outcomes associated with these approaches. The findings reveal five key instructional principles (identity, technology, design, content development, and sense of belonging) alongside...

The proliferation of educational technologies has generated unprecedented volumes of diverse, multimodal learner data, offering rich insights into learning processes and outcomes. However, leveraging this complex, multimodal data requires advanced analytical methods. While Multimodal Learning Analytics (MMLA) offers promise for exploring this data, the potential of Artificial Intelligence (AI) to enhance MMLA remains largely unexplored. This paper bridges these two evolving domains by conducting the first systematic literature review at the intersection of AI and MMLA, analyzing 43 peer-reviewed papers from 11 reputable databases published between 2019 and 2024. The findings indicate a...

Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) has been widely used in education, yet many students still lack the skills to fully leverage its potential. A systematic search was conducted across three academic databases from 2020 to 2025. This scoping review explores the evolving landscape of GenAI applications and introduces prompt engineering as a critical competency students need to develop to bridge their AI literacy and enhance their technical skills and critical thinking in higher education. A search across Scopus, PubMed, and ERIC yielded 76 studies that were systematically reviewed to identify relevant research. The PRISMA-ScR guidelines were used to determine which studies met the...

This study aimed to categorize learning analytics (LA) models and identify their relevant components by analyzing LA-related articles published between 2011 and 2019 in international journals. A total of 101 articles discussing various LA models were selected. These models were characterized according to their goals and components. A qualitative content analysis approach was used to develop a coding scheme for analyzing the aforementioned models. The results reveal that the studied LA models belong to five categories, namely performance, meta-cognitive, interactivity, communication, and data models. The majority of the selected LA-related articles were data models, followed by performance...

The application of Machine Learning (ML) and Deep Learning (DL) in Educational Data Mining (EDM) is revolutionizing the educational field. Researchers have been particularly interested in predicting student performance at an early stage. These early predictions can significantly benefit students’ learning experiences, allowing educators and other stakeholders to plan timely interventions. This review examines studies employing these technologies, adhering to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses (PRISMA) guidelines to ensure the approach is transparent and replicable. This systematic review begins with preselecting a total of 281 records that go through a...
