The emergence of ChatGPT has sparked growing interest in artificial intelligence within the educational field. However, expectations regarding its potential are tempered by uncertainty about its real implications, especially in the teaching of Spanish as a Foreign Language (SFL), where empirical research on the topic remains scarce. This study aims to identify the opinions of SFL teachers regarding the integration of ChatGPT as a teaching tool, the ways they use this chatbot, and the limitations they perceive for its integration. Through a questionnaire applied to 159 teachers, data were collected on various variables related to the use of ChatGPT. A total of 47% of participants reported using ChatGPT in their teaching practice. The most common applications include generating questions for lesson planning and searching for cultural content to use in classroom activities. Nonetheless, significant barriers were also identified, such as concerns about data privacy and the potential for dishonest student use.

La irrupción de ChatGPT ha suscitado un creciente interés en la inteligencia artificial en el ámbito educativo. Sin embargo, las expectativas sobre su potencial se enfrentan a la incertidumbre sobre sus implicaciones reales, especialmente en la enseñanza del español como lengua extranjera o segunda, donde la investigación empírica sigue siendo escasa. Este estudio exploratorio tiene como objetivo identificar la opinión del profesorado de español sobre la integración de ChatGPT como herramienta docente, los usos que hacen de este chatbot y las limitaciones que perciben. A través de un cuestionario aplicado a 159 docentes, se recogieron datos sobre diversas variables relacionadas con el uso de esta herramienta. El 47% de los participantes afirma utilizar ChatGPT en su labor docente. Entre los usos más frecuentes destacan la generación de preguntas para preparar clases y la búsqueda de información cultural para actividades con estudiantes. No obstante, también se identificaron barreras significativas, como preocupaciones sobre la privacidad y el posible uso deshonesto por parte del alumnado.
