The Department of Spanish at Hillsdale College seeks applicants for one open-rank tenure-track position to commence August 2027. Applicants from any field of Iberian or Latin American literature, culture or linguistics are welcome to apply, but special attention will be given to candidates with interest and experience in the teaching of advanced grammar and writing. All courses are taught in the target language.
Hillsdale College is a small (1500 students), fiercely independent Christian liberal arts college dedicated to the perpetuation of freedom through serious learning and moral formation. It is committed to the Western intellectual tradition and requires genuine excellence in undergraduate teaching.
- Candidates should have a Ph.D. in hand by the time of the appointment.
- All candidates must demonstrate excellence in teaching language and literature at all undergraduate levels.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English.
- Evidence of scholarly potential.
