Paterson Public Schools seeks a World Language teacher for grades K-5. School locations: Public School No. 28/Paterson Academy of the Gifted & Talented and Public School No. 12.
The position is full time and on site, pending budget availability.
Hold a New Jersey Teacher of World Language Certificate (Spanish) or Elementary K-6 certificate. Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of teaching a foreign language. Knowledge of child growth and development, effective instructional strategies, and classroom management. Knowledge of assessment and data analysis for instructional purposes. Ability to communicate effectively in English and in another language, both orally and in writing, with students, staff, parents, administrators and the community. Exhibit a personality that demonstrates enthusiasm and interpersonal skills to relate well with students, staff, administration, parents and the community. Demonstrate the ability to use electronic equipment for word processing, data management, digital technology to augment authentic learning, information retrieval, visual and audio presentations, and telecommunications. Must be computer literate. Highly motivated result-driven educator.
The district may also accept such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.
