We are seeking an enthusiastic and knowledgeable linguist with the ability to teach French up to A Level and Spanish to GCSE, fostering high standards of achievement and a passion for language learning in all students. This exciting post offers the chance to teach French and Spanish to girls aged from 11 to 18 within a uniquely beautiful and supportive environment.
At Benenden, girls in IV study Latin, alongside either French or Spanish. In LV they have a choice of two languages from French, Spanish, Latin and Mandarin, French being one of the most popular languages. The students must then study at least one language up to GCSE.
Working at Benenden: Benenden is one of the leading boarding and day schools in Britain. We were founded in 1923 and are situated in 250 acres of attractive parkland in Kent. There are 550 students in the school, aged 11-18. Meals are provided for staff on duty. The school's leisure facilities, including a fitness gym and swimming pool, for staff to use when available.
The successful applicant will need to have the ability to teach and inspire girls of a range of abilities throughout the school. The successful candidate will be an experienced and highly effective classroom practitioner, capable of joining an established department mid-academic year and quickly building positive relationships with students, providing expert subject knowledge, strong examination preparation, and targeted intervention to ensure students are fully equipped for success in public examinations.
