Kennesaw State University is now accepting applications for a full-time, non-tenure track faculty position as Lecturer of Spanish in the Department of World Languages and Cultures with a preferred start date of August 2027. This is a nine-month contracted position and is for work to be performed in the state of Georgia.

Responsibilities: teaching face-to-face, hybrid, and/or online mainly lower division Spanish language courses, and dependent on departmental needs, upper-level division language Spanish. Assignments may also include teaching major-level courses in English geared toward all Modern Languages and Cultures majors. Teaching may occur on the Kennesaw or the Marietta campus. Engage in service to the department, college, and/or university, such as co-curricular activities organization, program recruitment, and committee work. Establish a teaching environment where all students can be successful. The current teaching load is 4/5 for the year.

The Department of World Languages and Cultures focuses on 13 languages, global cultural studies and intercultural competence, and offers two B.A. programs, Modern Language and Culture -with a Spanish track- and Asian Studies.

Required: a minimum of a Master's degree, or the foreign equivalent, in Spanish or closely related discipline (or foreign language equivalent) at the time of hire; or a minimum of a Master's, or the foreign equivalent, in a non-related discipline with 18 graduate credit hours in Spanish. And: a strong background in proficiency-oriented instruction, demonstrated through relevant experiences, skills, and/or training; native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English; documented record of experience in teaching Spanish courses in face-to-face and/or hybrid or online environments.

Preferred: experience with current trends in language pedagogy, cultural studies, linguistics, and related technologies; experience developing courses in a variety of modalities; experience with understanding, developing and administering effective language assessments; experience in organizing co-curricular activities, program recruitment, study abroad, and/or advising student groups.
