The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Concordia College invites applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE), three-year appointment as Assistant Professor of Spanish beginning August 2027. The teaching load is three four-credit courses, or the equivalent, per semester and will include a combination of beginning, intermediate, and advanced courses in Spanish and French. Opportunities may also include collaboration with other academic areas, such as the M.Ed. in World Language Instruction, interdisciplinary programs, and First-Year Experience courses.

- Ph. D. in Spanish/Hispanic Studies, with specialization open. ABD candidates will be considered provided the degree will be completed by April 2027.
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish, French, and English.
- Demonstrated passion, innovation, and enthusiasm for teaching language in lower-division courses.
- Demonstrated experience and effectiveness in teaching courses on the languages and cultures of the Spanish- and French-speaking worlds from an interdisciplinary perspective.
- Commitment to and experience working with diverse student populations.
Preferred: Expertise in second language acquisition theories and practice; experience in innovative curriculum development and interdisciplinary coursework; familiarity with General Education courses and ACTFL proficiency guidelines; commitment to and experience working with heritage speakers.
