Salary range: $73,500-$95,000 +
Immediate position at NCS:Bronx, full time.
NCS is seeking teachers passionate about teaching Middle School students and with expertise in Spanish. Teachers with a professional and personal dedication to student achievement, a growth mindset, and a willingness to give and accept feedback in order to promote professional growth are successful candidates at NCS.
Building relationships: collaborate with co-teachers to continuously improve best classroom practices; communicate and reinforce high expectations and standards for behavior and academic performance; cultivate a strong classroom community with students and families.
Intellectual preparation and instructional delivery: plan for and develop rigorous instruction and deliver it effectively to large and small groups of students; solicit, welcome and incorporate feedback; reflect critically upon teaching experience; maintain a secure and effective learning environment with clear expectations and routines.
Data analysis, assessment and grading: provide students with meaningful feedback; measure student achievement of, and progress toward, all learning objectives; drive academic outcomes by analyzing data and reviewing scholar work; participate in state-wide testing, including testing accommodations for New York State ELA and Math Exams and the New York State Alternate Assessment.
Differentiation and special populations: learn about the needs of all students in the classroom; differentiate for individual students based on their unique learning needs; employ various teaching techniques and methods; develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) and behavior plans in consultation with staff and families.
Family partnerships: develop strong relationships with families through frequent communication and assist parents in understanding and supporting educational objectives, learning expectations and behavioral standards.
- Bachelor's degree (required).
- Proven written and verbal proficiency in Spanish (required).
- NYS Teaching Certification (preferred, certification pathway support offered).
- One year of teaching experience working in an urban setting (preferred).
- Knowledge around students with disabilities, specifically autistic students (preferred).
