The salary for this position is $ 70,000.
The College will support reimbursement of relocation costs in accordance with its published policies. All full-time appointments offer competitive salaries and include full benefits.
The Department of Spanish at the College of the Holy Cross invites applications for two full-time visiting faculty positions for a one-year term (leave-replacement positions) during the 2026-2027 academic year, to begin in August 2026.
The successful candidates will primarily teach language courses and also teach one advanced seminar in Medieval and Early Modern Iberian literature and/or cultural studies.
Visiting full-time faculty teach 3 courses each semester (a 3-3 teaching load).
The Spanish Department at Holy Cross is part of a vibrant teaching and scholarly community, offering opportunities to collaborate with programs such as Latin American, Latinx, and Caribbean Studies, Critical Race and Ethnic Studies, and International Studies. Faculty also have the chance to engage with the College’s study abroad programs in Spain and South America, further enriching the academic experience.
Experience teaching Spanish at all levels is essential for these two instructor positions.
The successful candidate will demonstrate the ability to design and deliver dynamic, collaborative, and student-centered undergraduate courses taught in Spanish, and on topics with broad appeal related to Medieval and/or Early Modern Spain.
Qualifications
Candidates must demonstrate a commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching and inclusive pedagogies, informed by current practice and scholarship in the field.
A Ph.D. in Spanish, Hispanic Studies, or a closely related field with a focus on Medieval and/or Early Modern Iberian Studies. Candidates in ABD status will be considered, though those with a Ph.D. in hand are preferred.
