Main Scale / UPS - A TLR opportunity may be available
We are recruiting for a teacher of Spanish to join our successful and thriving MFL Department here at Cleeve School ideally from Easter 2026, but could be from September.
ECTs are very welcome and encouraged to apply and our provision for new members of staff is strong, particularly driven by our emphasis on career development. We are a teacher training lead hub school, which brings opportunity and mirrors being a centre of excellence for staff training. On appointment, you will be supported by a successful Head of Department, and a broader team of professionals, depending on your stage of career development.
The TLR focus, for an experienced candidate, would be discussed at interview.
Languages are highly valued at Cleeve and there is a keen interest by the Executive Head and Board of Trustees to continue to increase student uptake and develop international links and events across the curriculum. Outcomes in MFL have significantly improved over the years and the department is moving from strength to strength. Spanish continues to thrive at Cleeve with an expansion of our Spanish Key Stage 3 curriculum and a fantastic six classes currently at KS4. The Department has an extremely well-resourced subject area, with attractive teaching rooms, an excellent range of teaching resources and a great network with local schools. Spanish is taught at KS5, with our Sixth Form Centre of Excellence recently being recognised as ‘Outstanding’ by Ofsted.
Furthermore, our students of Spanish at KS4 and KS5 are supported by experienced Foreign Language Assistants, enhancing our already ambitious curriculum.
