In recent years, the MFL department has gone from strength to strength and now comprises five highly skilled teachers, four of whom are native-level speakers. As passionate linguists, collaboration, communication, and the sharing of ideas sit at the heart of our teaching practice. The department benefits from five dedicated classrooms, all equipped with interactive whiteboards or digital screens, enabling engaging, high-quality lessons supported by 21st-century technology.
The department has established a strong reputation for academic excellence, delivering stimulating and successful lessons within a dynamic and highly engaging learning environment, both in and beyond the classroom. French and Spanish are popular choices at both KS4 and KS5, reflecting the enthusiasm of our students and the strength of the provision. We are particularly proud of our outstanding IGCSE and IB examination results, as well as the consistently excellent achievements of our students in recent years.
The aims of the department are to:

The successful applicant will be required to have the following:
- Experience teaching GCSE Spanish is essential and A Level/IB Experience is desirable.
- A B.Ed. or degree in a related subject and PGCE / PGDE or equivalent with exceptional subject knowledge.
- A proven track record of outstanding learning and teaching.
- A mind-set which understands all students have the potential for top performance, and the drive and passion to enable them to do so.
- Experience which will enable a contribution to our enriched curriculum programme.
