A Unique Opportunity to Teach and Inspire in a World-Class International School
The British School of Angola (BSA) is seeking an exceptional Spanish Language Teacher (KS 3 to 5) to join our dynamic, forward-thinking faculty. This role goes beyond classroom instruction—it is an opportunity to inspire, innovate, and help shape a thriving learning community in one of Africa’s most dynamic cities.
At BSA, we believe in “Freedom to Think, Dream, Explore, and Enrich.” We provide a Cambridge-accredited education that nurtures independent thinkers, lifelong learners, and global citizens.
Our students are curious, motivated, and creative, while our faculty comprises passionate educators who strive to make a meaningful impact.
This is a rare chance to be part of a school transforming the future of international education, while immersing yourself in the cultural richness, warmth, and vibrancy of Luanda.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver Engaging Lessons – Plan and implement challenging, inspiring lessons in line with the Cambridge International Curriculum (UK National Curriculum), ensuring each student excels.
- Support and Assess Student Progress – Use innovative teaching strategies and regular assessments to guide student learning, providing meaningful feedback.
- Create a Positive Learning Environment – Foster a classroom culture where students feel safe to explore, take risks, and reach their full potential.
- Collaborate and Share Best Practices – Work closely with colleagues across the school, contributing to curriculum development and professional growth.
- Contribute Beyond the Classroom – Participate actively in BSA’s co-curricular programmes, from academic competitions to creative clubs and sports.
- Engage with the School Community – Build strong partnerships with students and parents, ensuring every child feels valued and supported.
We are searching for an outstanding educator who embodies our values of creativity, respect, responsibility, and pride. The ideal candidate will have:
- A recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS, or equivalent)
- Expertise in education, with experience in KS3 to 5
- At least 3 years’ experience in a UK or British-curriculum school
- A record of student success in international education
- A passion for inquiry-based, student-centred learning
- Familiarity with modern pedagogical approaches and assessment strategies
- A commitment to holistic education, fostering creativity, confidence, and responsibility
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills in an international school setting
