St. George’s School seeking to appoint a qualified Secondary MFL Teacher to work in our flourishing secondary department to teach Spanish, starting August 2026.
The Modern Foreign Languages department is at the heart of St George's as an international school with a multitude of languages spoken by our pupils. All pupils learn German (either as native or non-native level) as a core element of the curriculum, and in Lower Secondary School all pupils learn either French or Spanish in addition. Modern Foreign Languages are a very popular option choice both for IGCSEs and the IB. The department is well lead, and all members of the department share a common ethos and goal. Teachers willingly share their expertise and resources and volunteer extra responsibilities when necessary.
All applicants should hold a valid teaching qualification. We consider a degree in education (e.g. B.Ed./M.Ed./Lehramt), or postgraduate teaching certificate (e.g. PGCE) as valid. English language teaching certificates (e.g. TEFL/IELTS/CELTA) are not sufficient.
The successful applicant will be a dynamic teacher with experience of enabling pupils to achieve their potential. We are looking for the right balance between experience, enthusiasm and a passion for teaching that will inspire our pupils.
Fluency in English and familiarity with the English National Curriculum are a prerequisite. A strong desire to contribute to the rich extra-curricular life of the department is also an advantage.
Given the growing and developing nature of the school, flexibility and the desire to support other team members is essential. A strong desire to contribute to the rich pastoral and extra-curricular life of the school will also be an advantage.
Only applications made through the TES online portal will be considered.
We require additional information for your application, please upload the following documents to your Schrole profile:
• A copy of all your degree certificates and corresponding academic transcripts
• A copy of your teaching qualification
Applications should be submitted by the closing date of Sunday, 17th of May 2026. The school reserves the right to contact outstanding applicants in advance of this deadline.
