A competitive contract package for staff includes*:
- Economy class flight upon commencement and end of last contract for teacher and dependents with an additional baggage allowance (up to a defined amount)

We are looking for a dynamic, student‑centred Portuguese & Spanish Teacher for the Middle Years Programme (MYP). The ideal candidate is passionate about language acquisition, culture, and the IB approach to modern language instruction. Experience with differentiated learning and inclusive practices is highly valued.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach Portuguese and Spanish across MYP and DP levels, following IB language acquisition objectives.
- Design engaging units that promote communication, cultural awareness, and authentic language use.
- Use a variety of formative and summative assessment strategies aligned with MYP and DP criteria.
- Support students’ development of ATL skills, especially communication, organization, and research.
- Collaborate with language department colleagues to ensure cohesive curriculum design.
- Incorporate digital tools to enhance language learning.
- Communicate effectively with students, families, and staff.
- Contribute to school‑wide events, language initiatives, and community projects.
- Bachelor’s degree in Languages, Linguistics, Education, or related area.
- Teaching qualification or certification.
- Fluency in Portuguese and Spanish.
- Strong English proficiency.
- Experience teaching IB MYP and DP Language Acquisition in an international school setting, especially within IB framework.
- Familiarity with inquiry‑based and concept‑based pedagogy.
- Ability to integrate cultural perspectives meaningfully into lessons.
Local candidates with previous experience in an international school setting with IB experience will have a distinct advantage.
Personal characteristics required for the position:
- A relevant degree in Portuguese and Spanish Language, Education, or a related field.
- Teaching qualification and experience in language instruction, preferably in an international or IB setting.
- Familiarity with the IB MYP framework is highly desirable.
- A commitment to international-mindedness and holistic education.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- EU citizenship or valid work permit for Portugal is an advantage
