The Foreign Language Faculty is a full-time, 9-month position located primarily on the L.L. Polk campus (Polkton, NC) with additional teaching responsibilities at the Old Charlotte Highway campus (Monroe, NC). The expected start date is for Fall 2026.
Under the direction of the Department Chair for Arts and Humanities, the Foreing Lanugage Faculty provides quality learning opportunities that assist students in all curriculum programs in meeting their educational goals and career aspirations. This individual has responsibility for teaching, learning, curriculum development, student learning assessment, advising, professional development, institutional service, and community relations. Courses to be taught include Elementary and Intermediate Spanish courses, as well as other Spanish Language and Culture, courses as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Spanish OR a master’s degree with 18 graduate hours in Spanish language and literature
- Teaching experience
Preferred Qualifications
- One academic year of full-time teaching experience or a part-time teaching equivalent at the college level
- Familiarity with a course management system such as Canvas
- Experience teaching web-enhanced, blended/hybrid, and online classes
- Experience with learning outcomes assessment
- Demonstrated innovation in teaching
- An additional 18 graduate hours in another Foreign Language area is desirable, though not required.
