Annual Salary : 5 million yen ~
Basic Salary will be decided taking one’s academic background, professional background, etc. into account.

Komaba Organization for Educational Excellence (KOMEX), College of Arts and Sciences, the University of Tokyo, is recruiting an associate professor who can contribute to the development of the Spanish Department teaching programs, especially in the field of oral communication for our university students, who begin their Spanish learning only after entering the university.
Responsibilities
1) Teach six or seven Spanish-language classes per semester in the Junior Division of the College (first- and second-year undergraduate students)
2) Teach one Spanish-related course per year in the Senior Division (third- and fourth-year students)
3) Participate in the program development of the Department of Spanish Language
Working hours :09:00-17:30
Break time :12:00-12:45
Holidays : Saturdays, Sundays, Holidays, and the year-end and New Year holidays
(December 29 to January 3)
Contract period
Nontenured - Non-tenure track
3 years (April 1, 2027, to March 31, 2030). The contract may be renewable only once, possibly extended to March 31, 2033, considering one’s work performance, work record and attitude, medical conditions, budgetary issues, the amount of work at the end of the contract, among others.
Probationary period present
14 days from the date of employment
- Ph.D. / Doctor
- Native speaker of Spanish, or with an equivalent level of proficiency
- Scholarly achievement in the field of humanities or social sciences
- Ph.D. or equivalent academic qualification in a related field
- Spanish teaching experience at the university level preferred
