The College of Arts and Sciences at Queens University of Charlotte invites applications for a 9-month, non-tenure track position in Spanish. The selected candidate will join a collaborative World Languages Department dedicated to inclusive, innovative undergraduate teaching. The position begins in August 2024.

We seek a colleague who will offer beginning and intermediate courses in Spanish language and have opportunities to engage in scholarship, participate in service, and mentor students through advising and undergraduate research experiences—all to enrich the academic life of the university. There will be opportunities to participate in learning communities through the university’s award-winning general education program and to co-lead courses that involve short-term study abroad trips with students through the John Belk International Program.

This position reports to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences. This position is exempt from provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and is not eligible to earn overtime pay or compensatory time off for additional hours worked. This position is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Requisitos 

Essential Requirements:

  • Master’s degree in Spanish.
  • Evidence of high-quality teaching effectiveness.
  • Commitment to cultivating learning environments that foster a sense of belonging for all students.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using technology-supported pedagogies and active learning to engage students.
  • Experience mentoring undergraduate students in scholarly activities and community engagement.
