The School of Social Science and Global Studies at The University of Southern Mississippi invites applications for a full-time non-tenure-track Visiting Instructor of Spanish for the 2021-2022 academic year. The School is seeking candidates with a background in Teaching Languages or Second Language Acquisition with a commitment to excellent teaching and at least 18 graduate hours in Spanish. The selected candidate may teach face-to-face and/or online courses. The School strongly values and encourages interdisciplinary collaboration in teaching and scholarship.
Master’s degree in Spanish, Teaching of Languages, or Second Language Acquisition (or related field) with at least 18 graduate hours of Spanish.
Master’s Degree in Spanish, Teaching of Languages, or Second Language Acquisition (or related field) with a record of high-quality teaching and experience teaching and mentoring in a university setting with a diverse student body.
Candidates should submit (1) a cover letter, (2) CV, (3) evidence of teaching effectiveness (including evaluations if available), (4) names of three references, and (5) a statement of teaching philosophy.
