The Spanish and Portuguese Section in the University of Cambridge is seeking to appoint a University Lecturer in Colonial Latin American Literary and Cultural Studies.
Appointees will be expected to:
- engage in high-level research,
- seek opportunities to win external funding for that research,
- publish in their specialist field,
- teach and examine undergraduates,
- supervise and examine MPhil and PhD postgraduate work,
- contribute to administration.
e invite applications from candidates with outstanding research and teaching potential in Colonial-era Hispanophone literatures and cultures of Latin America. Strong preference will be given to candidates with a specialist interest in 16th and 17th centuries. Expertise in indigenous, Lusophone and/or Spanish peninsular languages and cultures of the Colonial era will be an advantage.
The successful candidate will normally hold a PhD in the relevant specialist subject area and will have a record of, or clear potential for, outstanding research.
