Hope College seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Spanish. Diverse specialties are welcome to apply, with departmental needs in the following areas: Caribbean studies, Latinx studies, cultural studies, or applied linguistics. Duties include teaching one advanced course per semester, as well as sharing responsibility for all levels of Spanish instruction and contributing to the general education curriculum. Courses in the specialties listed above are preferred, in addition to other areas such as Spanish for Business or Spanish for Translation. Faculty are responsible for 24 workload hours per year, 18 dedicated to teaching and 6 reserved for research or creative activity. The standard teaching load is three 3-credit courses per semester. 

Requisitos 

Ph.D. in hand is expected by August 2025.

Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is expected. Strong candidates will demonstrate a record of excellent teaching and scholarship, an emphasis on global education and diversity, and a commitment to the liberal arts in the context of the historic Christian faith.
