$67,000 - $97,000 annually
The salary will be determined according to the candidate's educational background, teaching experience and applicable work experience. 
This position has been designated as a bargaining unit position represented by The Green River United Faculty Coalition. 

Descripción 

This is a full-time, tenure track faculty position beginning September 2024, and continuing with annual nine-month contracts. 

The Foreign Language department seeks an innovative and creative candidate committed to fostering a communicative and task-based language community in the classroom. The candidate will be focused on the growth of both the Spanish and the Latin American Studies departments and the promotion of both programs to serve a diverse student population. In addition, the successful candidate will be able to offer innovative, high-quality courses for Green River College students.

Position Responsibilities
Teaching first- and second-year Spanish language courses (in Spanish). Teaching Latin American Studies courses (both in English and in Spanish). Other responsibilities include advising students, developing, and revising curricula, evaluating, and hiring adjunct faculty as needed, as well as collaborating and participating in activities to enhance the department's presence on campus and the recruitment and placement of students. Faculty members are expected to be involved in division and campus meetings, committees, and other community activities. This position requires teaching on-campus and may include remote instruction.

Requisitos 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Masters in Spanish with a focus on Latin American Studies or related degree.
  • Teaching experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with Latin American or Hispanic Studies film or literature.
  • Coursework in or demonstrable experience with second-language acquisition
  • College-level teaching experience in which the candidate was the primary Spanish language and/or Latin American Studies instructor of record in at least one course.
  • Experience using current classroom management technologies.
  • Demonstrated involvement in professional activities in promoting Spanish and Latin American culture on campus and in the community.
