This position is covered under the collective bargaining agreement between the U-M and the Lecturers Employee Organization, AFL-CIO, which contains and settles all matters with respect to wages, benefits, hours and other terms and conditions of employment.
The Department of Romance Languages and Literatures in the College of Literature, Science and the Arts at the University of Michigan seeks applicants for a Lecturer I position in Spanish language instruction to begin on August 29, 2022 and run through April 30, 2023. This position is responsible for teaching three sections in the Elementary Language Program per semester under the supervision of a Course Coordinator. In addition, Lecturers are expected to attend course meetings, hold office hours and handle routine matters related to instruction. At this time, we anticipate all classes will meet fully in-person.
Applicants must have native, or near-native fluency in Spanish and English, as well as prior experience teaching courses in Spanish as a foreign/second language. Minimum education level of Bachelor’s Degree required.
Applicants must be legally eligible to work in the United States at the time they submit their application.
Advanced training or degree preferred.
