The incumbent will only be contracted to teach for Spring 2025 term at a rate of $25,000. The expectation is that the position could be renewed in the future.

Hawai’i Pacific University invites applications for a position in Spanish at the rank of Lecturer, starting January 2025, for spring semester 2025. The successful candidate will teach beginning and intermediate undergraduate Spanish courses. Other courses may include culture and literature of Spanish speaking cultures. The teaching load is thirty credits per school year with possible release time for other administrative duties.
Requisitos
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and minimum five years professional field related experience.
- Previous successful college teaching experience
- Fluency in both Spanish and English.

- Graduate degree in related field and minimum five years professional field related experience.
- Previous successful college teaching.
- Fluency in both Spanish and English.
- Ability to teach additional foreign language a plus
- Strong commitment to inclusivity and diversity, and ability to interact effectively with diverse cultures and ethnic groups.
- Ability to network with community organizations and programs to develop partnerships for the benefit of students, faculty, and the university.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Other Qualifications:
- Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and relocation allowance is not available for this position.
- Report to work obligations to support the department and may require work during HPU’s summer and winter break, if necessary.
- Must meet training and background check qualifications and comply with the Protection of Minors policy.
- Able to teach classes scheduled during days, evenings, and weekends.
- Able to teach classes at multiple locations on Oahu.
- Successful candidate will be able to work in an environment that utilize excellent time and stress management skills.
