The Department of Languages, Literatures and Cultures wishes to appoint a Lecturer in Latin American Cultural Studies and Spanish Language for a fixed-term period of twelve months. The appointment will run from 1 September 2025 – 31 August 2026. The interviews for the post will take place on Tuesday 24 June 2025.

The role comprises teaching, administration, and research. The successful candidate will be expected to teach on a range of modules such as the first-year introductory module Global Iberias; second-year modules on visual culture and language; Spanish language teaching; and MA teaching, including on the online MA in Global Cultures. They will be expected to provide high-quality teaching on these modules and to complete assessment and marking. They will also be expected to fulfil a departmental administrative role and pursue their own research projects.
 
This is a full-time post, and you will be offered  a fixed term contract until 31 August 2026.

Requisitos 

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria

  • PhD in relevant subject area
  • Undergraduate teaching experience at HEI
  • Native or near-native Spanish language

Desirable criteria

  • Administrative experience
  • Experience in student pastoral care
  • Postgraduate teaching experience
