The salary range for this position is $77,693-$81,624 for a 176-day contract over the Instructional Year (Fall/Winter/Spring Quarters). Additional compensation may be available for assignment of summer quarter courses or courses taught outside of the full-time position during fall, winter and spring quarters.
Relocation expenses are part of the employment offer for the successful candidate if the candidate relocates to the Tri-Cities area from outside of a 175-mile radius.

We are seeking an outstanding and enthusiastic individual to teach a broad range of courses in Spanish Medical Interpreting and departmental/divisional offerings based on their area(s) of specialization. The faculty member should be flexible with broad interests and a willingness to teach in a variety of areas, across modalities, and using innovative and inclusive teaching strategies.
Requisitos
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Interpreting, Interpreting Studies or Interpreting Education with Spanish emphasis or related field from an institutionally accredited agency;
- Two (2) years of college-level teaching experience;
- Two (2) years of experience in Spanish medical interpreting or interpreting education;
- Experience with instructional technology (e.g., PowerPoint, Word, an LMS);
- Nationally Certified Healthcare Interpreter (or eligible before hire); and
- Demonstrated ability to create an inclusive and equitable learning environment, with a focus on supporting the academic success of Hispanic and other underserved populations. Experience incorporating inclusive pedagogy and addressing challenges unique to these populations, informed by both personal and professional insights.
Preferred Qualifications
- Five (5) years of experience in medical interpreting;
- Experience teaching at a community college and/or the freshman and sophomore levels; and
- Experience with eLearning methodologies, including web-enhanced, blended, and/or hybrid instruction.
Successful candidates must meet the following requirements:
- Provide proof of lawful permanent residency or other appropriate work authorization as required by the Immigration Reform Control Act of 1986.
- Disclose any substantiated findings or any ongoing investigations related to sexual misconduct as required by RCW 28B.112.080.
- Pass a criminal background check. Note: information learned during the criminal background check will not necessarily preclude employment but may be a factor in eligibility for the position.
- Maintain an alcohol-free and drug-free workplace during employment.
- Verify education at time of hire.
