Faculty salaries are determined by education level and experience.  Below are the salary ranges for each level of education.  Placement within the range will be determined by experience.
Masters          $45,896 – $67,903
Masters +15  $48,193 – $71,298
Masters +30  $50,602 – $74,864
Masters +45  $53,131 – $78,607
Doctorate      $55,786 – $82,537

Opportunities exist for overload and summer teaching assignments.

Descripción 

Full-time, tenure-track, 9-month instructor to teach Spanish courses starting Fall 2022. Teaching load will consist of Spanish courses in a variety of delivery modalities and course length.  Courses are offered on the LLCC main campus in Springfield, IL and Outreach Centers in Jacksonville, IL, Taylorville, IL and Litchfield, IL. 
 
Duties will include teaching 15 contact hours per semester of assigned classes, preparing lessons and course syllabi; evaluating and assisting students; keeping accurate records of student performance (following grading procedures; providing students with timely feedback); maintaining office hours; participating in departmental/institutional operations and program review; creating a learning environment that fosters student success; developing, integrating, evaluating and reviewing student learning outcomes in support of the College’s ongoing accreditation; and contributing to a collegial and collaborative work environment. 
 
The Arts and Communication Department consists of a Dean, eleven full-time faculty members and one administrative assistant. The Department offers a variety of transfer and professional courses and programming for students seeking degrees in Art, Communication, Design (Graphic Design, Digital Media etc.), Music and World Languages.

Requisitos 

Required Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree in Spanish or a related field, with 18 graduate semester hours in Spanish
  • Native or near-native command of Spanish and English
  • Prior teaching experience at the college level 
  • Strong interpersonal skills 
  • Advanced computer and technology skills appropriate to the discipline
Employment is contingent upon the successful completion of a criminal background check and drug-screen.    Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience teaching communication at a community college 
  • Experience in assessment of student learning outcomes 
  • Formal or informal training in pedagogy for higher education 
  • Experience teaching students from a wide spectrum of ages and from diverse cultural and social backgrounds, including high school students enrolled in dual credit classes
  • Experience teaching Online and Hybrid modalities
