Descripción 

At the Faculty of Arts of KU Leuven (campus Leuven and campus Kortrijk), there is a full-time vacancy for a postdoctoral assistant in the field of Spanish linguistics.

Responsibilities
To provide teaching and research in the field of Spanish Linguistics at the Leuven and Kortrijk (Kulak) campuses.

The semesters are as follows:
1st semester (13 weeks):
Spanish Linguistics II (6 credits, Leuven)
Spanish Linguistics II (6 credits, Kortrijk)
2nd semester  (13 weeks):
Spanish Linguistics III: diachronic (4 credits, Leuven)
Spanish Linguistics I (1 credit, Leuven)

The doctoral assistant is expected to be committed to the Spanish linguistics group and to participate in the meetings of the research group Functional and Cognitive Linguistics: Grammar and Typology and the linguistics research unit in Leuven. He/she is also expected to prepare research applications. From the 2025-2026 academic year, the doctoral assistant will be available to supervise bachelor's papers and master's theses in the program of Linguistics and Literature.

Requisitos 

  • A recent doctorate in linguistics or philology.
  • Near-native command of Spanish and English.
  • Work experience abroad, preferably in a Spanish-speaking country
  • A cooperative attitude in the Spanish language and literature group.
  • Computer skills necessary to work with the electronic learning platform.
  • Interest in audiovisual applications in language teaching.

Given that the native language of our students is Dutch, knowledge of Dutch is recommended.
