$81,647.23 - $117,283.39 annually

Initial placement on the salary schedule will be commensurate with education and experience, not to exceed step five (5) on the assigned salary schedule.  Step five (5) may be exceeded if the district determines an extraordinary need, or circumstance warrants a higher placement.

We have an exciting opportunity for a Full Time Temporary Foreign Languages Instructor (Spanish) located at our campus in San Jacinto, CA. Mt. San Jacinto Community College District seeks a Foreign Languages Instructor (Spanish) to teach and develop courses in Foreign Languages (Spanish). This is a full-time tenure-track academic position. Full-time faculty are typically assigned 15 lecture hours (or the equivalent in laboratory, studio or related activities) of student contact time per week. Office hours are also required. Faculty are expected to participate in college governance through departmental, instructional and other required campus meetings as well as Academic Senate appointments to standing councils, committees, and/or a variety of task forces. Teaching assignments may include a mixture of day, evening, multi-campus and off-campus classes.

This recruitment is for a full-time temporary assignment for the Academic Year 2025/2026 (August 8, 2025 – May 21, 2026).

While this current vacancy is expected at the San Jacinto Campus, applicants may be assigned to any district facility.  

The start date for this position will be Fall 2025 (August).  Additional openings that become available prior to the end of the hiring process may also be filled from the qualified applicants.  

Requisitos 

Minimum Qualifications
1. Master’s degree in the language being taught (Spanish); (attach transcripts) OR
2. Bachelor’s degree in the language being taught (Spanish); AND Master’s in another language or linguistics; (attach transcripts) OR
3. The equivalent; AND
4. Demonstrated sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students, faculty, and staff

Desired Qualifications
1. Demonstrated knowledge of Spanish and English at a native or near-native level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading, and writing
2. Demonstrated knowledge of and ability to teach about different Spanish-speaking countries' culture, history, and linguistic varieties
3. Demonstrated excellence in equitable teaching practices, assessment, and the ability to respond effectively to diversity of academic preparedness, culture, gender, race, ethnicity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic circumstances, and disability
4. Experience in leading and participating in extracurricular and department responsibilities beyond the teaching assignment, such as program review, curriculum, community events, Honors, club advising, etc. 
5. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with colleagues and students in an institution of higher education
