The Department of World Languages and Cultures at the University of Minnesota Duluth (UMD) seeks an Instructor or Assistant Professor of Spanish for a one-year sabbatical replacement, beginning August 21, 2023 and ending on May 19, 2024. The position currently entails teaching a variety of lower- and upper-division Spanish classes, student advising, and departmental and collegiate service. The current teaching load is 3-3.

Requisitos 

Required qualifications include a minimum of a Master’s degree in Spanish or a closely related field from an accredited university at time of application; two years of relevant teaching experience at the college level (TA experience acceptable); evidence of strong teaching credentials; and outstanding oral and written communication skills in English and Spanish.

Preferred qualifications are demonstrated ability to teach various levels of Spanish courses; knowledge of contemporary pedagogy and best practices in teaching and learning; experience teaching Spanish for Specific Purposes classes, including Business and/or Health; ability to teach beginning French; and experience working effectively with diverse groups in educational settings.
