Murray Edwards College invites applications for a Fixed Term (two years) College Lectureship in Spanish from 1 October 2021. This post will be in association with Peterhouse.
The person appointed will be expected to teach (‘supervise’) undergraduates for twelve hours per week for the twenty teaching weeks of the year; the successful candidate will offer about 9 hours for Murray Edwards College and 3 hours for Peterhouse per week in term time. They will also act as a Director of Studies for all students studying Modern and Medieval Languages and Linguistics (MMLL) at Peterhouse; and may be required to act as Director of Studies for a year cohort at Murray Edwards. Direction of Studies is separately remunerated.
The person appointed will be elected to an Official Fellowship at Murray Edwards College, co-terminous with the qualifying office of College Lecturer.
We welcome applications from applicants of any gender with a Ph.D. in Spanish and an excellent track record in research and publication. Given the nature of the post, the successful candidate will also have experience of teaching at undergraduate level at Cambridge or at another University; and/or have an interest in developing high-quality teaching. Experience of supervision of topics that form part of the Spanish Tripos would be a distinct advantage.
