Prospect Schools is seeking an organized, flexible, and mission-driven Spanish Teacher to join our vibrant educational team. Job Responsibilities:

  • Teach a designated amount of sections of a specific content area.
  • Use assessment data, student work, and other information to inform plans for student and class objectives; For ML/ELL students this will also include using the NYSITELL, NYSESLAT, and other formative assessments to monitor ML/ELL students' progress as language learners.
  • Develop and execute engaging, innovative lesson plans tailored to various learning styles and proficiency levels. Utilize a range of resources creatively to enhance learning outcomes.
  • Work closely with our school Principal, Department Head, and subject teachers to continuously improve and iterate on relevant curricula.
  • Operate with the belief that all students can and want to learn.
  • Prioritize each student’s academic and social-emotional development.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to share research-based practices for teaching ML/ELL students.

Requisitos 

  • Bachelor’s degree required; master’s degree in education strongly preferred.
  • NYS teaching certification preferred.
  • Experience working with or teaching students who are learning a new language (Multilingual Learners) Fluent in both Spanish and English, with a deep understanding of linguistic nuances.
  • Solid grounding in educational theories and practices, especially in world language instruction and/or bilingual education.
  • An active community builder who believes in collaborating across teams and functions to achieve results.
  • Ability to work with young children, K-5 who present with various learning challenges.
  • Create opportunities for students to build self-advocacy skills.
