Overall purpose of the job:
To deliver Spanish-language classes across the four skills of language learning (listening, speaking, reading, and writing) at all undergraduate levels and at CEFR levels A1 to C1. This includes the design of exams and other forms of assessment. To teach some aspects of Hispanic cultures as part of language and/or content modules. To engage in academic-related administrative duties, such as the coordination of modules and attending open day events. To supervise UG Final Year Projects.

Requisitos 

Essential Criteria
  • Master’s degree (level 9 NFQ or equivalent) in teaching Spanish as a Foreign Language or a cognate discipline (Hispanic Studies, Translation Studies) and a teaching qualification (diploma or equivalent where the degree is not a teaching degree).
  • A minimum of three years of experience teaching Spanish language in higher education (level 8 NFQ or equivalent), at all CEFR levels.
  • Native or near-native command of Spanish.  
  • Good standard of written and spoken English.
  • Experience of administrative duties in HE (module or course coordination)
  • Ability to work as a member of a team in a collegial and collaborative manner.
  • Experience of using digital technologies for language teaching.
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience in teaching translation and/or interpreting.
  • Experience of teaching aspects of Hispanic cultures (such as literature or film)
  • Commitment to outreach and/or scholarly activities.
