The Department of Modern Languages and Literatures in the College of Arts and Humanities (CAH) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) invites applications for a 9-month, tenure-earning assistant professor position in Spanish, with a concentration in Latin American Literature, anticipated to begin August 2025. This position will also be responsible for coordination, advising, and recruitment for the undergraduate program in Latin American, Caribbean, and Latinx Studies.
The successful candidate will contribute to the department’s mission by pursuing an active research agenda, teaching graduate and undergraduate courses, and engaging in service to the department, college, and university. The appointment carries a 3/2 teaching load.
Requisitos
Minimum Qualifications:
A Ph.D. in Spanish or related field with a specialization in Latin American literature from an accredited institution by the time of appointment. Native or near-native fluency in Spanish and English is required. Candidates must have demonstrated experience teaching at the college level.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Southern Cone literature. Experience teaching both lower-division language courses and upper-division courses on the literature and/or culture of Latin America. Experience in a variety of teaching modalities (online, mixed-mode, and face-to-face). Experience in program supervision and/or teaching, research, or administrative experience related to a Latin American Studies program.
