St. Bonaventure University invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant Professor of Spanish, beginning in Fall 2025. 

Key responsibilities include teaching a range of undergraduate courses in the candidate’s area of expertise and foundational courses in Spanish language (from elementary Spanish through intermediate Spanish), literature, and/or linguistics. The standard teaching load is 4/4. Requisitos 

We welcome candidates with expertise in Peninsular or Latin American Studies, as well as those specializing in Spanish Linguistics.

The ideal candidate must hold a doctorate in Spanish or a closely-related field by June 30, 2025. We are particularly interested in applicants whose research and teaching explore areas such as literature, culture, linguistics, or contemporary issues affecting the Hispanic world. Candidates with expertise in professional studies would be particularly welcome. Candidates should demonstrate a commitment to excellence in undergraduate teaching and possess an active research agenda. A proven ability to foster diversity and inclusivity within the academic community is highly desirable.

Possesses the appropriate professional degree or license or, in rare circumstances, have made exceptional contributions to his or her field of learning so as to render the achievement of such a degree or license unnecessary.  Demonstrated teaching ability, scholarly promise, interest in the professional and personal growth of students, and a genuine spirit of study necessary to maintain currency in one's academic field.
