The Department of Modern Languages, Literatures, and Cultures at The Citadel invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Spanish with expertise in the Caribbean (literature, culture, and/or related fields).
Responsibilities:
- Teach all undergraduate levels of Spanish language, literature, and culture
- Offer special topics and first-year (freshman) seminars as needed
- Standard 4-4 teaching load at a public, state institution
- Contribute to departmental service and student mentoring
- Ph.D. in Spanish or a closely related field by the time of appointment
- Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English
- Demonstrated excellence in teaching at the undergraduate level
- Evidence of (or clear potential for) a strong scholarly agenda
