CALICO, the Computer Assisted Language Instruction Consortium is a professional organization that serves a membership involved in both education and technology. CALICO has an emphasis on language teaching and learning but reaches out to all areas that employ the languages of the world to instruct and to learn. CALICO is a recognized international clearinghouse and leader in computer assisted learning and instruction. It is a premier global association dedicated to computer-assisted language learning (CALL).

CALICO began mainly as a group of people interested in using and producing technology-based materials for language teaching. After 25 years of growth and experience, CALICO now includes foreign language educators, programmers, technicians, web page designers, CALL developers, CALL practitioners, novice CALL users, second language acquisition researchers–anyone interested in exploring the use of technology for foreign language teaching and learning.

Confederación Académica Nipona, Española y Latinoamericana (CANELA)

CANELA, creada en 1988, es una sociedad de hispanistas en Japón cuyo propósito es dedicarse al estudio y profundización de los temas relacionados con el ámbito hispánico. 
Desarrolla anualmente diversas actividades tales como la celebración de un congreso, realización de talleres dentro de las diferentes secciones y la publicación de la revista Cuadernos Canela..

FIAPE - Federación Internacional de Asociaciones de Profesores de Español

Esta federación reúne actualmente a cerca de 14.000 profesionales de la enseñanza del español organizados en sus respectivas asociaciones nacionales. En este momento (2020) FIAPE está formado por diecinueve  asociaciones. 
Pretende crear un entorno de cooperación entre profesionales de la enseñanza de la lengua española que viven en el extranjero y ofrecer un foro de intercambio.

FILTA is an association of language teachers, film educators and researchers. FILTA was formed for the purpose of providing a forum for the exchange of information related to the use of film in language teaching. We are also concerned with issues dealing with education, instruction and training in multimodal literacy and its application to language learning.

Our aim is to work with the theoretical framework of “learning in a participatory culture” outlined in the 2006 White Paper “Confronting the Challenges of Participatory Culture: Media Education for the 21st Century” (Jenkins et al): encouraging online community memberships, the use of collaboration to solve problems, and the use of technology to shape the flow of media.
