This is an exciting time to join our Languages Faculty as it strives to develop its curriculum, both within lessons and in terms of enrichment, and grow numbers at GCSE and A Level.

We seek a professional, dedicated linguist to assume the role of Head of Spanish, which reports to the Head of Faculty (Languages) and is responsible for maintaining the highest academic standards in Spanish teaching. Specific responsibilities of the role are to coordinate the Spanish curriculum (Years 7-9, GCSE and A Level), and manage the provision of learning Spanish through lessons and enrichment eg trips.  It is also expected that the Head of Spanish will deputise for the Head of Faculty (Languages) as necessary.

Requisitos 

The ideal candidate:  

  • A good degree in Spanish or a related MFL discipline  
  • Teaching experience across the full age and ability range from KS3 and KS5
  • Proven ability to motivate learners and raise achievement 
  • Ability to use assessment data to inform planning and set targets 
  • Team player who is flexible in outlook and attitude  
  • Patient, friendly and approachable  
  • Understanding and supportive of the School's ethos
  • Positive, enthusiastic, flexible with a pro-active ‘can do’ attitude 
  • A commitment to using ICT to develop learning
