Descripción 

SUNY Brockport invites applications for a Lecturer position in the Department of Education and Human Development/Modern Languages to begin August 2025. This position involves teaching courses in Spanish language, composition, and conversation as well as courses that focus on bilingualism, second-language acquisition, and multiculturalism. Experience in program coordination is preferred. In addition to teaching, the candidate will be responsible for providing academic advising and is expected to participate in service activities.

Requisitos 

Minimum Qualifications:
  • Doctoral degree in Spanish/Hispanic Linguistics or a related field from a college or university accredited by the US Department of Education or an internationally recognized accrediting organization by the time of appointment. ABD candidates must earn their doctoral degree within 6 months of hire. 
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in Spanish language.
  • Evidence of the ability to work collaboratively with others, with an appreciation for cultural and group differences.
  • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Near-native fluency in Spanish and English.
  • Demonstrated teaching experience in second language acquisition and/or bilingual education.
  • Experience in program coordination.
