Descripción 

The Department of Modern Languages (MODL) at The University of Texas at Arlington (UT Arlington) seeks to fill a Lecturer in Spanish, Academic Professional Track, position beginning August 2024. Candidates must demonstrate potential for excellence in teaching. This is a nine-month, renewable position.

Applicants should be qualified to teach beginning and intermediate Spanish language and culture courses using communicative/proficiency-based approaches, as well as global issues courses. The standard teaching load is 10 courses per academic year (typically 5/5), although this load may be modified by the Chair pursuant to significant service assignments.

Requisitos 

Required Qualifications 
M.A. or Ph.D. in Spanish and/or related field, e.g. second language acquisition, language pedagogy, linguistics, etc. Native or near-native proficiency in Spanish and English is required. Experience in teaching Spanish, preferably at the college level.

Preferred Qualifications 
Secondary emphasis in Hispanic Literature and Culture or Global Studies strongly desired.
