Salary according to the Collective Bargaining Agreement for University Staff (level A2) and an organisational retirement plan.
The professorship will focus on language acquisition in the Romance languages (L1, L2, foreign language acquisition, multilingualism) both in research and teaching. We expect a PhD in this field of research covering at least one of the three languages French, Italian and Spanish. The candidate is expected to represent at least two, ideally all three languages in research and teaching. The candidate should have experience and competences that cover both language acquisition theories and empirical methods of language acquisition research.
The professorship is part of a research-active department with a high potential for cooperation in the fields of language acquisition, in particular multilingualism, language contact and foreign language acquisition. The successful candidate will have many further opportunities to connect and cooperate with other departments in the faculty in fields including, but not limited to, psycholinguistics, applied linguistics, grammar theory, historical and comparative linguistics as well as socio- and variational linguistics. https://romanistik.univie.ac.at/.
